Who uses our airfreight solutions

Our airfreight service is built for shippers who balance speed with operational risk and total cost – not just the lowest rate per kilo.

E-commerce brands and retailers

Fast replenishment of fulfillment centers and marketplaces, campaign-driven demand spikes and last-minute stock moves before sales and promo periods.

Distributors and importers/exporters

New product launches, managing volatile demand and bridging gaps while slower modes like ocean or road are in transit.

Manufacturers and industrial shippers

Critical components for production lines, avoiding line stoppages and emergency re-routing when sea or road shipments are delayed.

Time-sensitive and high-value cargo owners

Electronics, fashion drops, medical supplies or other goods where every day of delay increases risk, obsolescence or lost sales

When does airfreight actually make sense?

Airfreight is rarely the cheapest option – and it shouldn’t be. It’s the right choice when the cost of delay is higher than the extra cost of flying. We help you decide when to use air, and when to shift to ocean or road instead.

  • A line stoppage in your factory would cost thousands per hour
  • Stock must arrive before a fixed date for a launch or campaign
  • An ocean shipment was rolled or delayed and you must recover part of the volume
  • High-value goods need speed and fewer touchpoints to reduce risk
  • You need to bridge demand until regular ocean or road flows stabilize

How our airfreight process works

We keep the process simple and transparent, so you always know what happens next.

  • You send us your request
You share origin, destination, cargo details, ready date and delivery deadline.
  • We clarify and quote (≤2 business hours)
For standard enquiries we respond within two business hours with routing options and estimated transit times.
  • Booking and capacity confirmation
Once you approve, we confirm capacity with our carrier partners and lock in a realistic ETD/ETA.
  • Pre-flight checks and documentation
We help align invoice, packing list and any required licenses. We can also arrange customs clearance.
  • In-transit monitoring and proactive updates
You receive updates at key milestones – pickup, departure, arrival and delivery attempt.
  • Delivery confirmation and POD
After delivery we provide proof of delivery and, for regular shippers, performance data.

Airfreight options you can actually choose from

Not every shipment needs the same speed or budget. We help you match the right service level to the impact of the shipment.

Express / next-flight-out

For shipments with very high impact and strict deadlines. Priority handling, fastest possible connections and minimal waiting time at origin.

Standard airfreight

Reliable transit times at a balanced cost level. Ideal for most urgent but not “life-or-death” shipments, including replenishment and partial recovery from delays.

Economy airfreight

More flexible routings and slightly longer transit in exchange for better cost per kilo. Suitable when you still need air, but have some buffer in your lead time.

Door-to-door

We take full responsibility from pickup at your door to final delivery inclusive of customs clearance in both sides and arranging cargo insurance.

Air + road combinations

Airfreight into a main hub plus dedicated van or groupage delivery on the final leg – often the best mix of speed and cost inside Europe.

Where we move your airfreight

Our core strength is airfreight from Europe to the rest of the world, and back. We work with vetted carrier and handling partners on the main trade lanes used by European e-commerce, manufacturing and distribution businesses.

  • Exports from EU airports to North America, Asia and the Middle East
  • Imports from Asia and North America into Europe, including gateway handling and onward delivery
  • Intra-European airfreight for time-critical moves that cannot wait for road transit

Focused on the lanes that matter most to European shippers

Why shippers choose KG Cargo for airfreight

Our clients don’t just buy a rate per kilo. They buy fewer unpleasant surprises in their supply chain.

Quotes with real options, not guesswork

For standard enquiries you get your quote within two business hours – with clear routings, estimated transit times and the main risks explained.

Proactive communication when things change

Flights get delayed and capacity gets tight. We notify you early, propose alternatives and help you protect your commitments.

TCO mindset, not rate-chasing

We look at your cost-to-serve, lead times and service level targets. Sometimes that means recommending ocean or road instead of air.

Transparent pricing and invoicing

We explain what is included, what is not, and how surcharges work – so invoices match expectations.

Experience with e-commerce and manufacturing flows

We understand fulfillment cut-off times, marketplace SLAs and production planning – and align airfreight decisions with that reality.

What we need from you to quote airfreight properly

The more complete your request, the faster we can confirm a realistic solution and price.

  • Origin and destination (city, country and postal codes if available)
  • Cargo details: number of pieces, dimensions and weight per piece
  • Commodity description and commercial value
  • Ready date and required delivery date or time window
  • Preferred Incoterms (e.g. EXW, FCA, CPT, DAP)
  • Any special handling needs (temperature, fragile, stackable/non-stackable)
  • If applicable: dangerous goods details (DG class, UN number and MSDS)

If you also need customs clearance or cargo insurance, let us know so we can include these services from the start.

Airfreight FAQ

For standard requests with clear shipment details, we aim to respond within two business hours. Complex projects or special cargo may take longer if we need carrier confirmation or additional information.

Yes. We work with customs partners in key markets and can arrange import and export clearance, HS code checks and advice on duties and taxes. If you prefer to use your own broker, we can coordinate with them as well.

In many cases, yes – as long as the goods are properly packed, declared and documented according to IATA rules. Please include the DG class, UN number and MSDS with your request so we can confirm feasibility and any extra requirements.

You receive confirmations at key milestones such as booking, pickup, departure, arrival and delivery. For time-critical or high-impact shipments we can agree a more detailed update plan, including 24/7 monitoring.

We can handle everything from small cartons to larger palletized shipments. Very large or heavy pieces may require special handling or specific aircraft types – we will advise you on what is realistically possible and at what cost.

Delays do happen. Our role is to inform you as early as possible, explain the options and help you choose the best plan B – rebooking, rerouting, partial recovery by alternative mode or adjusting the delivery plan with your stakeholders.
